Hi all!! We survived day #2 of Comic Con and had such a fun day! I took tons of great pics and tweeted until my phone died. (iPhone + SDCC tweeting = battery fail) Now I'm at the hotel and the boys have crashed and I'm still trying to upload pics. The wifi is so bad here that I've decided to just post the highlights. I'll put the whole thing on Facebook once I get home from the trip if you are interested.

These were some of the first costumes of the day. A whole family and it was funny watching the Mom try and wrangle her little brood of superhero's into place so that people could take their pictures! I love seeing the kids at Comic Con, they see someone in a costume that they recognize and they jump and laugh and get so excited! Santa has nothing on Superman!
DJ discovered the book "Days Missing" at the Roddenberry booth. He loved it so much he read it all right away and then made me tweet out (and now blog about it) that EVERYONE should read it. So it has the 16 year old geek seal of approval!! So go get some!
Darth Vader serving up Jar Jar's head on a platter was the funniest costume of the day!!

Whoever came up with the idea to have the Klingons 'take over' the trolly station in front of the convention center is brilliant. It gave us a giggle right when we stepped off the train!

The brilliant Klingon Transit Signs! Complete with phonetic translation so you know how to say it.
Here is one for you boys!! When Westborough Baptist Church said they were going to protest Comic Con, I assumed they would have more than three people... They looked kind of pitiful next to the several hundred Comic Con "idolaters". They had a 10-11 year old boy with them though, it was tough to see that their hate is being spread through the generations.

The Comic Con anti-Westborough Baptist Church protesters vastly outnumbered the loonies. My favorite signs were, "God Hates Kittens", "God Hates Jedi's", "God Loves Everyone" and a Bender robot that had a sign that said "Death to all Humans!". The Free Hugs people were out too and I always love to see them. Spread love, not hate, everyone!!!!!

The Scott Pilgrim vs. Comic Con experience was by far one of the best parts of the day! (The best part of the day was absolutely a sing along of Dr Horrible. I love that show and the script with the crowd responses -ala Rocky Horror - was sooo much fun!) Can't wait to see the Scott Pilgrim vs the World movie!
Donovan said he'd wear the Eastbound hat all day but he only made it a couple of hours. I kept loosing him in the crowd because I didn't recognize him with long, curly hair!!

Donovan and I's favorite part of the con, the art. (This was at the Aspen booth)

The Aspen booth is always a favorite of ours. Not only do they have beautiful books but the authors and artists are some of the most accessible at the con. They take the time to really talk to fans and do incredible sketches. The booth makes me sad though, we always remember how kind Michael Turner was and how committed he was to us fans. We have so many things he signed. He should have lived forever...

Furries freak me out...

DJ just loves his anime and video game characters. He is constantly telling me who/what they are as we walk through the convention. I may know alot about comic books but I know NOTHING about this stuff. Don't ask me who he's with, but kudos for the great costume!

The promotion for Skyline involved a HUGE wrap on the hotel next to the convention center and all these little floating bodies rising up into the air. I tweeted out that I hoped they were all bio-degradeable since they looked like body shaped balloons. Then I found where they were coming from and discovered that they were actually made out of BUBBLES! They looked so cool being formed and the guys making them said that they were non-toxic and could go up to 30 miles. So cool...

I love the costumes at the con!! Can't wait to see the Masquerade!

Dexter was sort of okay... I wish I had gone to see Geek Girls Exist instead. The boys went to that one and said it was awesome!

Going to see the real vampires tomorrow morning. We give blood at the blood drive every year. Every year I freak myself out because it is usually very painful for me. My veins are so small that once, one of the nurses said, "honey, you should just give money instead of blood!" I always go anyway.
Here is where you park your dragon!!! Best scooter ever!
