Day 1 Down....

So let's talk crafted travel powers.... and let's talk how this is going to go... I will play, sleep and then blog so the day that I'm talking about happened within the last 24 hours but then again, maybe not.... just stick with me.
ANYWHOOOO... I was really just grinding for components for my tier 2 travel power yesterday. I would not suggest that any of you actually go after it if you are at all able to resist the urge. I guess I'm a bit ocd since I HAD to get mine for the first level 40 character that I made... That said, the fact that I'm still grinding away for the next tier says that I am WAY more OCD than I had ever expected. Is it worth it? I really couldn't say... I have this prestige item that not many can say they have but then again, I have this item that many can say they don't have time for. Would I suggest YOU do it? NO! Have a life, not a travel power... That said, I still grind mysticism travel power components for Vlork and really won't stop till I have at least one of each. Frosted Flake might be my sonic ball.... Guess the first day of the project was kind of boring, but I realized that most of playing an MMO is pretty boring (one page of notes only!!) If it wasn't for "Mighty Joe Young" it would have been like, half a page.... hugggggggs all!

New Project!!

So for the most part, this blog has been here, untouched for months at a time. I SAY I'm going to use it but then I don't...

This morning, I decided to make a commitment. I play Champions Online every day since I lost my job. I keep saying I want to write, so now I'm going to write about something I do every day! Yesterday was the big one year anniversary of CO and it seemed like a perfect "jumping off point". So come along on the ride... or don't... this is really more for me.
Above is Vlork. He's my level 36 dual blades guy and my best damage dealer. He's wearing his party hat and flying above the Birthday Cake that they had in the Renessance Center.

This is Anglefyre. She is currently my only chacter that is in an active guild (All-Stars) and she's in her party-wear, floating above one of the Mega-Destroids that had laid siege on CityHall.
This is Linus... he is one half of the Great Pumpkin/Linus duo that my husband and I created and he just wants to make a deposit but there is a Mega-Destroid getting his dance on in the bank!!
Congrats ona great year Cryptic and a great event to celebrate that year!

Hi all!! We survived day #2 of Comic Con and had such a fun day! I took tons of great pics and tweeted until my phone died. (iPhone + SDCC tweeting = battery fail) Now I'm at the hotel and the boys have crashed and I'm still trying to upload pics. The wifi is so bad here that I've decided to just post the highlights. I'll put the whole thing on Facebook once I get home from the trip if you are interested.

These were some of the first costumes of the day. A whole family and it was funny watching the Mom try and wrangle her little brood of superhero's into place so that people could take their pictures! I love seeing the kids at Comic Con, they see someone in a costume that they recognize and they jump and laugh and get so excited! Santa has nothing on Superman!
DJ discovered the book "Days Missing" at the Roddenberry booth. He loved it so much he read it all right away and then made me tweet out (and now blog about it) that EVERYONE should read it. So it has the 16 year old geek seal of approval!! So go get some!
Darth Vader serving up Jar Jar's head on a platter was the funniest costume of the day!!

Whoever came up with the idea to have the Klingons 'take over' the trolly station in front of the convention center is brilliant. It gave us a giggle right when we stepped off the train!

The brilliant Klingon Transit Signs! Complete with phonetic translation so you know how to say it.
Here is one for you boys!! When Westborough Baptist Church said they were going to protest Comic Con, I assumed they would have more than three people... They looked kind of pitiful next to the several hundred Comic Con "idolaters". They had a 10-11 year old boy with them though, it was tough to see that their hate is being spread through the generations.

The Comic Con anti-Westborough Baptist Church protesters vastly outnumbered the loonies. My favorite signs were, "God Hates Kittens", "God Hates Jedi's", "God Loves Everyone" and a Bender robot that had a sign that said "Death to all Humans!". The Free Hugs people were out too and I always love to see them. Spread love, not hate, everyone!!!!!

The Scott Pilgrim vs. Comic Con experience was by far one of the best parts of the day! (The best part of the day was absolutely a sing along of Dr Horrible. I love that show and the script with the crowd responses -ala Rocky Horror - was sooo much fun!) Can't wait to see the Scott Pilgrim vs the World movie!
Donovan said he'd wear the Eastbound hat all day but he only made it a couple of hours. I kept loosing him in the crowd because I didn't recognize him with long, curly hair!!

Donovan and I's favorite part of the con, the art. (This was at the Aspen booth)

The Aspen booth is always a favorite of ours. Not only do they have beautiful books but the authors and artists are some of the most accessible at the con. They take the time to really talk to fans and do incredible sketches. The booth makes me sad though, we always remember how kind Michael Turner was and how committed he was to us fans. We have so many things he signed. He should have lived forever...

Furries freak me out...

DJ just loves his anime and video game characters. He is constantly telling me who/what they are as we walk through the convention. I may know alot about comic books but I know NOTHING about this stuff. Don't ask me who he's with, but kudos for the great costume!

The promotion for Skyline involved a HUGE wrap on the hotel next to the convention center and all these little floating bodies rising up into the air. I tweeted out that I hoped they were all bio-degradeable since they looked like body shaped balloons. Then I found where they were coming from and discovered that they were actually made out of BUBBLES! They looked so cool being formed and the guys making them said that they were non-toxic and could go up to 30 miles. So cool...

I love the costumes at the con!! Can't wait to see the Masquerade!

Dexter was sort of okay... I wish I had gone to see Geek Girls Exist instead. The boys went to that one and said it was awesome!

Going to see the real vampires tomorrow morning. We give blood at the blood drive every year. Every year I freak myself out because it is usually very painful for me. My veins are so small that once, one of the nurses said, "honey, you should just give money instead of blood!" I always go anyway.
Here is where you park your dragon!!! Best scooter ever!

Greetings from San Diego Comic Con 2010!!! I'll be posting my pics here every night so come back to check them out!! The boys at the Ghostbustermobile! They had this 'curb' around it and Donovan fell when going up to take this pic. It was funny becaus he had the choice to save himself or save that poster he is holding and he chose to try and save the poster!!! It was the Thor special edition for the con and he was not going to smoosh it!! (notice that DJ is in his "who you gonna call pose!!)

The Thor set piece that was on display was awesome! Wish we could go to the pannel but Hall H requires 8+ hours of line time usually (some people even camp out!!)

Best bag ever!!! I am on a hunt for the Syfy "Big Backpack" today!!! Be back later!

Prop 8 Depression - Sigh

I went to the Supreme Court building this morning with such hope. I had images of hugs and tears and shouts of joy. They handed me a sign that said "We all deserve the freedom to marry" and I held it up with pride! I met a couple from San Leandro and a guy from San Diego and the mood was excited. We outnumbered the 'other' side by at least three to one!

When we got the word that Prop 8 was not rejected (although the 18000 marriages that were performed were going to remain legal - congrats to them!!) we decided to do a little peaceful protesting!

The clergy were amazing. They all sat and linked hands (when they weren't texting!) and when the police started making the arrests, they all stood and offered themselves as the first ones to be taken. We were singing "We shall not be moved" and it was beautiful. I wish I didn't have my little legal issues hanging over my head, I would have been right there on the ground!! As it was, 170 people were arrested and PROUD to be. We cheered each one as they were taken away. I loved this one.... The Bride (who can't legally marry her girlfriend) wore white to the arrest!!

Something sort of cool to note, when the circle first formed, all of the police that took the center of the ring were also Gay, Lesbian or Transgender. I thought that was sort of cool for the SFPD to let them stand there for the hour that they allowed the protesting before they started to make the arrests.

After the arrests were made, I went to grab a bite before the march. We were going to march from the Civic Center to the MLK monument. I loved the march, it was a chance to walk and chant and be seen by a BUNCH of people. At the end, we had a rally and it was wonderful. The whole park was just full of love. We all were disappointed but everyone was determined to fight.

This woman was in the cold for hours, she stood on that ledge with "Stripped of My Rights" written on her body, it was just one of many moving protests.

All over twitter, people keep quoting Abraham Lincoln, 'Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." He would have been fighting Prop 8 right along side us....

So I got fired by my sponsor today... how does that happen when I was going to fire her??

I had an appointment with my doctor, I am in a cast currently for my wrist and might have a staff infection (sp?) and I told my sponsor that I would change my day to tomorrow for our meeting and she freaked out? She said she would have moved mountains previously for her sponsor so the fact that I was unwilling to do this for her was unacceptable.... How does this happen?? Is sobriety only expected in the world where nothing just happens and everything can be scheduled??

Guess not in my life.... plus typing this in my new cast/stabalizer suxors...

Huggs all!!!

Hi all, just thought I'd update this for a few seconds while I try and figure out how to spend my day...

So my step-dad got arrested yesterday. Eight cops showed up on his doorstep to take him away for kiddie-porn.... I couldn't make the shit up that happens in real life... Consequently, I went FOUR meetings yesterday. Not because I'm worried about my step-father (he made his bed, sent images to undercover officers and is totally guilty apparently) but I'm worried about my Mom. It's sort of a new experience, being worried about her, she has always been the person who I knew would have it all together and would take care of me. Now she is going through all of this and I might get to be strong for her.

More later, this is all too fresh to really talk about. My brain keeps going to dark places and my sponser is meeting me for breakfast.

Hugsssssssss! Jen
